Job Summary: The Press Brake Operator II must be an individual who can adapt to a fast paced, Sheetmetal shop environment focusing on on-time delivery of parts. This person must have a strong work ethic, be willing to learn and ask questions about manufacturing processes. They will be responsible for setting up and operating the press brake under minimal supervision, while also forming parts. This person must be able to efficiently produce high quality parts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Operate Press Brake safely with minimal assistance
  • Set up machine with proper tooling required to produce products
  • Ability to check parts to print (angles and measurements)
  • Adjust machine as necessary to produce parts to print
  • Ability to Set up machine to be able to produce hems and offset bends
  • Form parts with multiple bends (6+)
  • Handle parts with care to avoid damage
  • Other duties as assigned

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Basic knowledge on angles and measurements
  • Basic shop math
  • Ability to use basic inspection equipment height gage, calipers, pins, and protractors

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Experience in prototyping is a plus
  • 2-3 years' experience forming/manufacturing required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers, equipment, hand/power tools, etc., and handle and feel parts of various size
  • Ability to bend, kneel and crouch occasionally throughout the shift
  • Ability to push, pull or lift 50 lbs. moderately throughout the workday
  • Ability to focus vision for: close vision, color vision, depth perception and adjusting to sharp focus

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Noise conditions can be moderate to extreme. Hearing protection will be provided if needed and/or by request
  • Exposure to fumes and/or airborne particles
  • Moving mechanical parts and vibration
  • Fast-paced environment

WORK HOURS:
  • 5 - 8-hour shifts OR 4 - 10-hour shifts
  • Overtime as necessary
  • Flexible scheduling in agreement with supervisor
