Overview

Under general supervision the General Facilities Technician is responsible for facilities maintenance services and operations including plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical maintenance, HVAC maintenance and operations.



Responsibilities

    Performs tasks involved in the upkeep, maintenance, and repairs of buildings and equipment.
  • Responsible for selecting the proper tools and techniques to complete various maintenance assignments.
  • Perform tasks using basic problem solving
  • Plan, organize, communicate, and cooperate with others to ensure that projects are completed.
  • Work with colleagues and vendors in order to accomplish all tasks assigned as necessary.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Informs supervisor of hazardous conditions and unserviceable items.
  • Takes periodic inventory of maintenance stock and equipment as required.
  • Completes all job duties according to prescribed safety procedures

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing up to 8 hours per day.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Indoor/Outdoor working conditions
