I. JOB OVERVIEW


Job Description Summary:
The Health, Human Function, and Rehabilitation Sciences Department of the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences ( SMHS) is currently seeking a Senior Services Associate to lead department admissions and enrollment functions. The Senior Services Associate utilizes admissions and enrollment data in the development, planning and execution of strategic marketing efforts and initiatives consistent with enrollment objectives and which maximize the quality and quantity of Health Sciences applicants.

This position typically serves as an integral point of contact for faculty, staff, and students throughout their life cycle to graduation. This role is responsible for processing applications, determining eligibility criteria, preparing communications, generating reports and monitoring applications, advising students on registration, graduation, and exception requests, advising faculty and staff on university policies and procedures, and reviewing and auditing student records. This position also typically researches and evaluates unusual or complex problems and requests, liaises with other GW contacts as needed, and resolves unusual or complex problems. This role often determines eligibility for graduation.

Duties include:

  • Represents the university and the programs at local, regional, national, and virtual recruitment events such as fairs, information sessions, and open houses.
  • Develops and maintains communication plan for prospective students from application to matriculation.
  • Interacts with complex data sets from web-based national applicant data portals, including exporting and analyzing applicant data against program measures and national benchmarks.
  • Collects and reports on data from prospective students and analyzes in conjunction with matriculant and graduate data to measure program effectiveness.
  • Reviews applications for admission.
  • Coordinates on-campus interviews and information sessions.
  • Informs applicants of admission decisions, and processes and tracks enrollments.
  • Oversees academic life cycle, manages student on-boarding, and enrollment processes.
  • Disseminates knowledge of program requirements and program resources to students and assists students with student-service and enrollment-related inquiries.
  • Advises students on registration, enrollment-related policies, and procedures.
  • Collects, reviews, and maintains student enrollment data and program-related data for enrollment management, academic assessment, and outcomes reporting and analysis purposes.
  • Oversees the organization of Convocation, Graduation, and other program cycle events.


Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, public speaking, and customer service skills; excellent writing ability; strong critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills; flexibility and adaptability; a demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced, high volume environment; and a deep commitment to recruiting and enrolling a diverse class.
  • Prior experience in admissions or academic advising is strongly preferred.

Hiring Range $45,925.13 - $75,829.87
