Position Summary:

The Purchasing Analyst is responsible for supporting the procurement process by analyzing purchasing data, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring the timely acquisition of materials and supplies. This role involves working closely with vendors, internal departments, and other stakeholders to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions, compliance with company policies, and the efficient flow of goods. The Purchasing Analyst will utilize data analysis to identify trends, forecast future needs, and optimize purchasing strategies.

Essential duties and responsibilities:



  1. Analyze purchasing data to determine optimal sourcing strategies for raw materials, including market trend reviews and supplier evaluations.
  2. Participate in the setup process for raw material items and the creation of Bills of Materials (BOM) where applicable.
  3. Conduct regular reviews of raw material inventories and manage reorder points based on historical and projected usage.
  4. Collaborate on cross-functional projects involving Supply Chain, Operations, Business Development, and Finance teams.
  5. Assist in developing and documenting purchasing processes, procurement contracts, sourcing events, and supplier performance metrics.
  6. Gain proficiency in the enterprise system (SAGE) to streamline purchasing operations.
  7. Support the Finance department with processing purchasing invoices, payables, and credit card reconciliations.
  8. Conduct research and compile statistical reports to inform purchasing decisions.
  9. Assist with creating and managing purchase orders for raw materials and miscellaneous supplies that support operations.
  10. Aid the Director of Pricing and Supply Chain in all aspects of raw material sourcing and supplier capacity evaluations.
  11. Assist in preparing reports and outcomes for the Director of Pricing and Supply Chain.
  12. Work with Quality Assurance and the Contracting Manager to ensure compliance with procurement standards related to raw materials.
  13. Promote continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing cross-functional collaboration.
  14. Perform a variety of ad hoc analyses as needed.


Qualifications

Qualifications (Minimum education, experience, training, licensure, certification):



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain management, or a related administrative role.
  • Familiarity with safety compliance and quality assurance processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Customer-focused with a service-oriented attitude.
  • Detail-oriented, demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
