Facilities and Maintenance Manager

The Job at a Glance

We've recently opened a brand-new Global Fulfillment Center with 40,000 sq ft of office space and 380,000 sq ft of distribution center space. The facility is equipped with miles of brand-new conveyor and a goods-to-person picking system along with other distribution equipment. As the Facility & Maintenance Manager, you are critical to the operation's mission. You're responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and upkeep of all facilities, equipment, and systems. This role ensures that the workplace remains safe, functional, and fits the Parts Town marketing and housekeeping standards. This role will manage budgets, schedules, and a team of technicians and recycling technicians. You will be responsible for working with overseeing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting activities over a wide range of material handling and facility equipment to support safe and efficient operations. This role will require a mix of hands-on maintenance work and coordination with vendors to service and maintain our equipment. You will lead and develop a team of maintenance technicians.

A Typical Day

  • Develops, implements, and oversees corrective maintenance schedules on distribution center material handling systems and corrective maintenance on facility equipment.
  • Maintains preventive maintenance records.
  • Conducts regular inspections to identify and address potential issues promptly.
  • Responds to emergency maintenance calls to correctly identify and resolve problems with facility and material handling equipment.
  • Supports a safe work environment by addressing equipment related safety concerns.
  • Determines when outside contractor support is needed and coordinates repairs and maintenance work with 3rd party providers.
  • Builds effective relationships with 3rd party vendors and works closely with DC leadership team to address operational maintenance and safety issues promptly.
  • Ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Manages vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for cleaning, security, HVAC, and other services.
  • Supervises and leads maintenance and facilities team.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor maintenance and facilities staff.
  • Set performance objectives and conduct evaluations.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive workplace culture.

To Land This Opportunity

  • You have 5+ years of previous experience working with electrical, mechanical systems, hydraulic, pneumatic equipment and able to troubleshoot issues (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, conveyance)
  • You possess the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform 8 hours of standing, bending, lifting, walking, and carrying products in combination at any given time.
  • You've mastered balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial planning.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

The salary range for this role is $80,897.99 - $109,450.22 annually, which is based on including but not limited to qualifications, experience, and geographical location. Parts Town is a pay for performance-company. In addition to base pay, some roles offer a profit-sharing program, and an annual bonus depending on the role.
