In this exciting and rewarding position as a Trauma/Acute Care Surgery
Nurse Practitioner, you will provide evidence-based care at our Level 1 ACS
Verified Trauma Center in Westwood. You will be at the forefront of trauma
care, playing a key role in managing and coordinating the care of critically injured
patients, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care from admission
through recovery.

In this dynamic role, you will:


  • Coordinate
    patient care: Take charge of patient care from start to finish, ensuring
    safe transitions and continuity, while collaborating with a
    multidisciplinary team.
  • Educate and
    support patients and families: Provide clear guidance and emotional
    support, helping families navigate the complexities of trauma recovery.
  • Contribute to
    daily rounds and clinical decision-making: Participate in
    interdisciplinary rounds to optimize patient care alongside trauma
    surgeons, residents, and other specialists.
  • Assist with
    procedures and follow-up: Perform wound care, ensure follow-up
    appointments are scheduled, and assist with various procedures as needed.
  • Respond to
    trauma activations and consults: Play a critical role in responding to
    trauma activations, covering consults, and managing pager duties to
    provide immediate care.
  • Document
    patient progress: Write detailed daily progress notes, discharge
    summaries, and procedure notes to maintain comprehensive patient records.
  • Collaborate for
    improved outcomes: Work alongside trauma surgeons, faculty, residents,
    social workers, and case managers to deliver cohesive, high-quality care
    aimed at improving patient outcomes.

Salary:

NP1 (less than 6 mths NP exp): $80.34 - $80.34 hourly

NP2: $89.06-127.19/hourly

Qualifications
  • MSN or DNP with Adult/Gero Acute Care NP specialty- required
  • CA RN and NP certification, State of CA NP Furnishing with Schedule II- required
  • National NP Board certification in Adult/Gero Acute Care/Adult Acute Care NP specialty - required
  • NPI#, DEA#, Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment on CURES- required
  • Surgical or Trauma ICU experience as an RN or NP - required.
  • BLS and ACLS from AHA or ARC- required
  • NPI (less than 6 months experience as a NP) If NPI, must have min of 3-5 years Surgical and/or Trauma ICU experience in RN role
  • NP1: less than 6 months NP exp
  • NP2: 6+ months NP experience
