As a Production Support Specialist II, you will be part of a diverse and hardworking team of specialists, you will support the manufacturing schedule for various systems and support equipment fabrication. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of manufacturing deliverables. In this role, you will utilize advanced planning and scheduling platforms to understand Blue Origin's scheduling needs and coordinate manufacturing activities with the operations team to support those needs.

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have great attention to detail to improve and maintain data integrity within our systems, which will then enable efficient scheduling practices to support on time delivery. You will also need to collaborate with cross-functional teams in order to problem solve and recover schedule when met with constraints. Specialists in this role are expected to regularly provide status to program teams, elevate schedule risks immediately for timely resolution, create action plans to push critical path hardware forward, and hold teams accountable to those plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Fabrication Project Managers to strategically control the flow of materials to manufacturing workcenters.

  • Requisitioning, receiving, storing, and dispersing and recording tooling, consumables and other assets to technicians and operators.

  • Continuously monitor and respond to technician tooling and consumable needs.

  • Enter material transactions in ERP system.

  • Process Scrap and obsolete inventory from WIP locations as required.

  • Prepare for, conduct, and assist in reconciliation of cycle counts.

  • Maintain clean and safe work areas following company policies and industry best practices (5S).

  • Must be able to work well with others, take direction and execute swiftly, be mindful of process improvement opportunities, and be able to problem solve.

  • Identify, catalog, and report manufacturing delays, sources, and resolutions needed to Operations Supervisors and Managers

  • Strictly enforce all Standard Operating Procedures and policies regarding tool crib/material control.

  • Based upon job duties, may need to work in various areas that may cause exposure to fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals (well below OSHA and ACGIH exposure guidelines), outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts and/or be part of a hearing conservation program due to noise levels around certain equipment.

  • Willingness to utilize powered lifting equipment, forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, lift tables etc. to support safe hardware handling operations.

  • Assist in the implementation of a robust materials management process that reflects best practices, to include material purchasing, handling, storage, control, and distribution of MRO inventory.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, Accredited GED or equivalent vocational certifications or training

  • 5+ years of Inventory Control, Tool Crib and/or Material Handling Experience.

  • Experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and/or inventory control applications.

  • Experience with activities related to planning and/or scheduling.

  • Experience working with a cross functional team

  • Demonstrates understanding and can apply continuous improvement concepts.

  • Ability to lift 50lbs, unassisted.

  • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perfume the functions of this position

  • Excellent interpersonal and Communication Skills (Verbal and Written)

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion

  • Strong computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.

  • Flexible to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends, and travel on occasion

  • Must be able to pass DBIDS background check. Role will be on a military installation.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Knowledge with welding consumables and tooling.

  • Ability to handle multiple duties concurrently based on workload dispersion, program priorities and management and customer decisions.

  • Knowledge of backflush and Kanban process.

  • Experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and/or inventory control applications.
