GENERAL PURPOSE

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for performing tests and intermediate troubleshooting on products during the manufacturing process.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Construct, maintain, and test electronic systems and components
  • Accurately follow testing procedures to ensure products meet established specifications
  • Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting to component level in a timely manner
  • Compile test results and report them in an appropriate format. Promptly communicate test results to all interested parties
  • Make recommendations for improvements to testing processes, procedures, equipment and fixtures
  • Ensure that testing areas are maintained and test equipment is calibrated
  • Effectively build and maintain cross-functional work relationships to efficiently complete test processes
  • Perform simple troubleshooting activities, diagnose minor deficiencies in equipment and recommend corrective actions where necessary
  • Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in safety programs, initiatives, and investigations

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, BOM's and associated procedures
  • Possess excellent solder skills
  • Proficient mechanical and troubleshooting skills to component level
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Strong computer proficiency including email and Excel
  • Possess a mechanical aptitude
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to frequently changing priorities/tasks
  • Ability to identify and communicate basic process improvements
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • The ability to make decisions on imperfect information
  • The ability to multitask and bias towards actions
  • Proven reliability - attendance and punctuality
  • Must understand basic lean principles - 5S, Kanban

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Associates degree in electronics with 2+ years' experience; or combination of relevant education and experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior knowledge of advanced electronics

Special Job Requirements:

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for 8 hours/day while making coordinated movements of the hands and fingers to grasp/pinch, and manipulate objects. This may include frequent use of vibrating/pneumatic tools, overhead and outstretched reaching with arms, bending/twisting/stooping, kneeling/squatting and frequently lifting/carrying up to 40 lbs. throughout the day.
  • Regular production/warehouse environment
  • Safety-toed shoes and safety glasses are required for working in this position

Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

The offered compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to level of experience, certifications/education, training, and work location.
