Communication System Integration and Test Architect

$76.00-$83.00 per hour DOE

As a systems engineer with a focus on Integration and Test (I&T) for the MUOS program, you will play a key role in defining, developing, and maintaining test and integration processes for a live communications system. This system provides warfighters with a cellular phone-like service, enabling direct, high-quality communication with significantly higher capacity than existing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead integration and testing for large-scale voice and data communication systems.
  • Collaborate with multiple development teams and government stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Define and execute system-level integration and verification plans.
  • Lead and guide the system engineering and I&T (SEIT) team throughout the system-level test life cycle.
  • We provide warfighters with a familiar cellular phone-like service, allowing forces on the ground to communicate directly with others at higher quality and much greater capacity than the current system allows.
  • Lead large-scale voice and data communications system integration and testing.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in planning and executing integration of system elements from multiple contractors or government agencies.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in recommending and implementing improvements to test processes and environments.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in CI/CD pipelines, with emphasis on their applicability to end-to-end system-level integration, regression, and verification.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in the functionality present in ground communication systems for cellular or satellite communications.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in handling requirements verification.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in implementing or interpreting model-based systems engineering (MBSE) models to establish test plans.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in the art of negotiation.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree.
  • Agile experience.
  • Expertise in communication system end-to-end functional test planning and execution.
  • Integration and test experience with 3G/5G communication systems or large-scale network management systems
  • Satellite or cellular communication ground system operations and integration knowledge.
  • Creative thinker motivated to apply technical standards and new methodologies to develop solutions.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to provide technical leadership and position others for success.
  • Good presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet challenging customer requirements with win-win solutions.
