The Position

2025 Summer Intern - Early Clinical Development

Department Summary

Genentech's Research and Early Development (gRED) Early Clinical Development (ECD) is responsible for crafting and implementing early development clinical strategies and plans to provide proof-of-concept data for safety, efficacy, and biomarker utility for gRED's new molecular entities. The Business Managers in the Chief of Staff Office serve as strategic thought partners, driving short-term and long-term business planning, strategy development, and execution.

During this internship, you will have the opportunity to experience the role of a Business Manager. Collaborating closely with the ECD Chief of Staff and other Business Managers, you will gain experience in strategic partnerships to drive business planning, strategy development, and execution.

This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site.

The Opportunity

  • Data Analysis, Organization & Presentation.

  • Project Coordination and Management.

  • Resource utilization tracking and monitoring (e.g. Travel, Resourcing, Outside Spend).

  • Evaluating best practices and streamlining standard work processes.

  • Contributing to meetings and events (e.g. Town Halls, functional team meetings).

Program Highlights

  • Intensive 12 week, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

  • Program start dates are in May/June (Summer).

  • A stipend to assist with internship-related costs, based on location.

  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

  • Work alongside talented professionals in the biotechnology industry.

Who You Are

Required Education:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).

Required Majors:

  • Business Administration, Business/Resource Management, Biological Science, Data Science, or related fields.

Required Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Agile mindset to adapt to changing work demands.

  • Passion for learning with a willingness to adopt new tools/processes.

  • Enthusiasm for sharing colleagues' accomplishments.

  • Proficiency with Google Suite products.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $23-$33 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
