Summary:
The Systems Architect provides leadership, tactical and strategic input on overall application integrated architecture, planning and development. Proactively acquires and maintains a high level of analytical and technical expertise on the systems and applications. Understands the Technical and Integration capabilities between those systems and functionality of other IT Systems to consult on integrated IT solutions designs in support of Virtua's business and clinical priorities, strategic vision and goals. Establishes and leads an integrated approach between IT Applications, Technical Engineers, Vendor and Customer teams to maximize best practice for integrated design standards. Collaborates with IT leadership to provide oversight for strategic planning and implementation in consideration of technical impact and input.

Position Responsibilities:

Understands choices involved in advanced application configuration and utilizes in-depth knowledge, skills and ability to lead key application projects, conduct system build design sessions and provides day-to-day support for IT applications, application architects, application analysts, and customers.

Develops and maintains an application integration strategy to account for growth potential, adaptability to business and regulatory needs, recommends, designs, develops, and implements architectural solutions through research, analysis, and benchmarking to meet strategic goals, enterprise standards, regulatory and customer needs.

Understands data structure modeling and applies that in-depth knowledge to design solutions in an integrated application environment.

Provides application and system-level consultation to application teams to guide application and system solutions to ensure foundational integrity. Actively participates in system build, configuration, and testing events.

Collaborates with Epic and non-Epic Architects and other technical internal and external customers to establish standards for maximizing seamless integration between systems.

Proactively acquires and maintains an in-depth knowledge of Application, Technical and Integration capabilities and workflow functionality of IT Systems.

Seeks and recommends new technologies or vendors to address specific business needs or to enhance practices and workflow.

Develops and documents procedures & standards for implementing system changes in an integrated application environment. Cultivates and disseminates knowledge of integrated application change management best practices. Coordinates and facilitates software updates and changes.

Conduct system architecture studies of new and existing IT systems to permit development of integrated systems which achieve corporate goals.

Mentors application analysts to increase their knowledge and awareness of integrated system considerations to guide the best design & solutions. Adheres to IT Business Practices including cybersecurity, HIPAA policies and procedures, project management, and available for 24/7 support rotation for as needed.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:

Minimum of 5 years' experience in IT development preferably within the healthcare industry. Ability to have 'big picture' mentality and demonstrated ability to provide technically oriented solutions through thorough analysis and consultation. Proficient advanced troubleshooting skills utilizing analytical, technical & logical approach to problem solving.

EPIC, application and systems certifications required. Must also have extensive Epic experience with at least three of the following: SER, EAP, Data Courier, Orders Transmittal, Facility/Department structure.

ClinDoc/Stork experience preferred.

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in lieu of a degree

Training/Certifications/Licensure:

EPIC and application certifications required and maintained. Other certifications may be requested as needed by Virtua.
