Position Summary

The New Mexico Statistical Analysis
Center (NMSAC) is hiring a Program Assistant. The individual will primarily assist with tasks
in support of the Intimate Partner Violence Death Review Team (IPVDRT). The IPVDRT is a
multi-disciplinary fatality review practice authorized by NMSA *31-22-4.1.
Fatality review is a method of inquiry that seeks to identify ways to improve
prevention and intervention efforts through an examination of the facts and
circumstances preceding a death. The IPVDRT focuses on local, state, and
federal programs and practices that aim to prevent injury and death in
incidents of intimate partner and sexual violence.

The Program Assistant will assist with case preparation,
including gathering and recording data from court records, autopsy reports from
the Office of Medical Investigators, and other sources. They may present case
data to the Team. Additionally, they will complete literature reviews in
support of the project, and assist with other IPVDRT tasks as needed.

The Program Assistant may also assist with other
NMSAC research and evaluation projects.

  • Must maintain confidentiality of records
  • Comfortable working with sensitive data
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word
  • Attention to detail
  • Record information completely and accurately
  • Ability to enter data into a database accurately
  • Ability to conduct literature reviews
  • Good writing skills
  • Responsible and self-directed worker

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system
  • Data entry experience
  • Prior research experience
  • Experience conducting literature reviews
