Job Description

The Product Marketing Intern will help renovate and advance the commercialization of Zurn Elkay's smart and connected (IoT) products to increase market awareness and properly position this emerging product category for success. We seek a student who understands how to market to a variety of audiences, such as manufacturers' representatives, distributors, architects and engineers and end users. As a member of a cross-business-unit team, this individual will work collaboratively with various Product Managers and Marketing Managers and will need to coordinate the efforts of several teams and outside resources to update existing marketing materials and organize new marketing materials and campaigns.

Key Accountabilities

  • Review existing marketing materials for accuracy and effectiveness

  • Under supervision, make changes to (or retire) existing marketing materials

  • Research sales channel needs to establish the most effective way to enable them to sell smart and connected products

  • Research the needs and interests of end users, decision makers and specifiers of smart and connected water systems technologies to determine the most effective way to reach them.

  • Design and recommend marketing campaigns based on research

  • Monitor the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and report to Product Manager; recommend changes to increase effectiveness

  • Review product pricing strategies; identify opportunities to improve price positioning

  • Review product placement and suggest improvements, such as opening additional channels, stocking in different locations, etc.

  • Work with internal teams and outside vendors on technical writing, video production, specification writing, and other product marketing projects.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration or related field

  • Ability to understand market trends, perform competitive analysis and obtain customer insight through interviews, surveys, etc.

  • Classroom related marketing experience or training

  • Demonstrated skill in collaboration and cross-functional teamwork

  • Communication skills, including story-telling. Has the ability to frame a products value in a way that resonates with the target audience

  • Ability to work 40 hours during the Summer

Preferred:

  • Experience with marketing tools, such as HubSpot, or analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics)

  • Experience with social media and digital campaigns.
