Position Summary
Under the direction of the Senior Director, the Program Director (Healthy Start Program Director) is responsible for the program development and implementation, operational leadership, and contract compliance of the Healthy Start Program.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administration of Healthy Start and Coordinated Intake and Referral program services.
  • Monitor contact compliance and adherence to Healthy Start Standards and Guidelines.
  • Conduct regular quality improvement activities and audits through record reviews, data analysis and annual subcontractor site visits.
  • Provide education regarding documentation that may affect coding or interpretation of quality of care.
  • Assist with the development of monthly, quarterly, and yearly required reports as necessary.
  • Accurate and timely submission of funders' monthly, quarterly, and yearly deliverables.
  • Directs the staffing by overseeing recruitment, training, and management of work assigned to professional and support staff.
  • Provides authoritative, detailed professional and technical knowledge regarding the program.
  • Work closely with Senior Director or designee to draft, negotiate and assure timely execution of related contract.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Minimum Qualifications

    1. Bachelor's degree.
    2. A total of three (3) years (36 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position. (Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.
    3. Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required.

    4. A candidate must have proven experience in supervision, program management and working in Maternal, infant or women's health as well as working in underserved areas, BIPOC communities and families with low income
