The Deployment Engineer installs and configures Tyler products and 3rd party software in Tyler's AWS hosted environments and remotely for client-hosted installations. The Deployment engineer executes software installations through all phases of a client lifecycle, prior to go-live of the software implementation process and into support. Installs and configures interfaces between Tyler Software and other applications. As a software deployment subject matter expert, guides clients and internal staff on procedures and order of operations for successful installations to provide a positive customer service experience. Troubleshoots issues of moderate difficulty that arise during these installation processes.
This is a hybrid position which requires the candidate to be local to the Plano, TX office at least 3x per week.

Responsibilities
  • Performs onsite or remote installation services for new and existing clients in accordance with the service work order.
  • Installs and configures applications which run on a variety of server operating systems such as Microsoft Windows.
  • Reviews and modifies AWS virtual infrastructure such as application load balancers and target groups.
  • Configures, backup and restores of Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Installs and configures web servers and deploy web products to clients.
  • Installs, configures and tests all components to the expected revisions and performance standards.
  • Provides technical training to clients regarding software installation and environment provisioning procedures as needed.
  • Consults with other departments during various phases of sales and implementation processes to ensure that the correct hardware and 3rd party software are ordered and delivered during the correct phase.
  • Documents results of service work performed for use by internal staff.
  • Documents installation procedures for internal staff.
  • Position may require either travel to client sites or off-hours coverage based on customer demand.
  • Additional weekend, travel, expertise, and after-hours compensation plans may be available
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or comparable work experience.
  • Experience working in public cloud environments (AWS and Azure)
  • Experience administering and installing applications and services on Windows servers.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and backup/restore procedures of the Microsoft SQL Server database engine.
  • Working knowledge of server hardware and network configurations.
  • Basic knowledge of web server technology (IIS), .NET framework, and SSL security.
  • Excellent client and internal communication skills maintaining a courteous, positive, and highly professional attitude.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced, technical environment, working independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills to work through technical issues, both independently and with customers.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills with a wide range of clients, both internal and external, from technical to non-technical and from management to clerical. Focus on providing accurate answers in a professional manner.
  • Travel to client sites and weekend work may be required
