IT Support Technician

The IT Support Technician reports to the VP of Operations and is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and management of company in-house and cloud IT infrastructure and assets. Job location is on site at our corporate office near Scott AFB, IL, with flexibility for situational teleworking.

  • Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs computer equipment, printers, phones and other peripherals.
  • Performs system setups for new hires and provides end user support for company personnel.
  • Installs and configures appropriate software and functions according to specifications.
  • Provides orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
  • Resolves internal user problems and ensures correct operation of personal computers.
  • Performs troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
  • Functions as the Help Desk for the company to receive, triage, and act on problem reports and IT request.
  • Maintains records/logs of IT problems, requests, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Develops and maintains local networks and cloud resources in ways that optimize performance and security
  • Ensures security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
  • Organizes and schedules upgrades, equipment refresh, and maintenance; deconflicts actions with company work.
  • Maintains IT asset inventory, identifies IT equipment and software needs, and completes acquisitions.
  • Contributes to developing and writing IT policies and security artifacts.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of IT related work experience
  • Understanding of IT hardware and software installation and configuration
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Exchange services and Azure are desired
  • Experience using SharePoint and MS Office applications
  • One or more relevant certifications desired, i.e., A+, Security+, etc.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
