The Opportunity

Adobe is looking for a Software Engineer Manager to continue building the platform that powers Adobe Experience Platform's Generative AI capabilities. Partnering with other business units, youwill be building products that transform the way companies approach audience creation, journey optimization, and personalization at scale. You will join a diverse, lively group of engineers and scientists long established in the ML space. The work is dynamic, fast-paced, creative, collaborative and data-driven.

What you'll do

  • Partner with Applied Research and integrations teams to understand their needs and goals. Use this knowledge to drive the development and evolution of the Generative AI Platform

  • Understand our complex landscape and make engineering and staffing decisions to best serve our diverse internal client base.

  • Drive continual improvements in our system to allow our internal users to be able to integrate and debug their solutions in a self-serve manner

  • Impact the organization through contributions to technical direction and strategic decisions.

  • Mentor team members. Plan for and support their career growth.

  • Propose and implement process changes to scale the overall velocity of the team

  • Provide clear insight into development status and platform health to leadership. Facilitate investigations into emerging issues in collaboration with the larger organization.

  • Work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced development team, with clear, positive, and constructive communication.

What you need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have the following background:

  • B.Sc. or higher in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of proven experience in software engineering building distributed systems or large-scale ML solutions

  • 2+ years of experience as an engineering manager

  • Familiarity with cloud development on Azure/AWS.

  • Experience using Relational (MySQL, Postgres) and NoSQL datastores (Redis, ElasticSearch, Snowflake) along with data access patterns and strategies.

  • Familiarity with modern development tools and environments (e.g., Git, Jenkins, CI/CD, automation frameworks and tools)

  • A strong understanding and extensive experience with scrum terminology and processes.

  • An ability to coordinate and approve technical requirements documents, code reviews, service deployments and project plans.

  • Strong leadership skills to drive consensus on requirements and to ensure decisions are made in a timely manner

  • Problem solving demeanor with a sharp focus on customer delight and developer efficiency

  • Consistent track record of developing, leading, coaching, and mentoring software engineers to deliver timely, high-quality software as a team

  • Demonstrated results working in a diverse, global, collaborative team-focused environment

  • Experience in cultivating a positive and growth-oriented environment.

  • Worked on Machine Learning infrastructure and applications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $143,700 -- $289,900 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
