The Jefferson Primary Care Research Center at Thomas Jefferson University seeks an early- to mid-career PhD-level primary care researcher as a faculty member to be appointed within the Department of Family and Community Medicine. The center is a university-level structure that enhances the primary care research portfolio of the university, in alignment with the clinical mission of Jefferson Health. Jefferson Health is a 32-hospital system that cares for a total of >1,000,000 primary care patients across Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey. Jefferson is full owner of Jefferson Health Plan, which provides insurance products in Medicaid, Medicare, ACA, and CHIP. Within the greater Philadelphia area, Jefferson Primary Care includes 98 practices serving 560,000 people across diverse communities, including an extensive network of community-based primary care sites in low-income neighborhoods. The Department of Family and Community Medicine is a nationally renowned academic department of over 50 faculty members, including three Divisions and three specialized Centers, with robust programming across clinical, research, educational, and community pillars.
The faculty member will have demonstrated skills in primary care research with a successful track record of publications and engagement in extramurally funded research. In this role, the candidate will build or maintain an independent, extramurally funded research portfolio that leverages the data systems, clinical and operational initiatives, and practice-based research network of Jefferson Primary Care, while providing consultative services on research design and methodology to faculty within the Department of Family and Community Medicine.

Responsibilities:
* Develop portfolio of funded research initiatives in areas of high relevance to
primary care clinical services.
* Provide consultative support to faculty of the Department of Family and
Community Medicine on research design and methodology.
* Partner with departmental faculty and with colleagues across Thomas
Jefferson University's colleges and departments to grow funded research
opportunities
* Provide expert guidance on the development and management of a practice-
based research network.
* Partner with health services leadership to align research opportunities with
key institutional priorities, including care model redesign, implementation of
patient-centered quality initiatives, and health equity.

Job Description

Requirements:
* PhD in a field relevant to primary care research

* Strong track record of publication

* Previous success in obtaining and managing extramurally funded research grants, and/or commitment to developing career as extramurally funded researcher

* Experience with multisite practice-based research with demonstrated ability to lead initiatives across a large practice-based research network

* Collaborative approach to research partnerships

* Experience in mixed methods research preferred
* Commitment to mentorship and team development
