General Purpose:

The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of accounting related tasks and will be able to work independently with little or no supervision. This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, and enjoy the accounting challenges within a small department. The office environment is informal but professional, requiring quality work and individual initiative.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently and with a team in a high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness. This position interacts with staff at all levels and must be able to remain flexible, proactive, resourceful, efficient, and professional under pressure. Confidentiality is crucial. Communication skills, attention to detail, and reliability are equally important.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Responsible for the entire Accounts Payable process for multiple entities.
• Review invoices and enter details into the accounting software.
• Track invoices through the approval process to ensure timely payment.
• Review and reconcile statements and contact vendors for missing invoice information.
• Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors.
• Contact jobsites about past due invoices that need to be approved.
• Monitor discount opportunities and vendor compliance requirements.
• Pay invoices utilizing a variety of payment methods.
• Ensure sales/use tax is properly calculated on invoices.
• Assist with audit support.
• Maintain current Certificates of Insurance for required vendors.
• Prepare ad hoc reporting to management as requested.
• Represent Massman Construction Co. in a professional and congenial manner through all methods of communication.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of basic bookkeeping experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Attention to accuracy and detail.
• Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Flexibility and a willingness to perform other reasonable duties as requested.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience in accounts payable.
• Knowledge of Trimble Construction One (Vista) ERP.
• Experience in the construction industry.
