Position:Senior Consultant, Strategic Accounts - Mexico, Central & South America

Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Consultant to manage and expand relationships within the GCN/CSP sales vertical across Mexico, Central, and South America. The ideal candidate will focus on driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships, leveraging both Spanish and English language skills to foster relationships and navigate the regional market effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tailored account plans to maximize revenue and margins for CIENA in the region.
- Meet and exceed sales targets for bookings, revenue, and margin.
- Collaborate with internal teams to advocate for customer needs, influencing product features, delivery timelines, and pricing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and CSP sales teams to secure GCN opportunities.
- Utilize technical and business insights to create competitive advantages and barriers to entry.
- Conduct regular assessments of sales opportunities and provide status reports to stakeholders.
- Coordinate with CIENA's executive team and various departments to align with sales objectives.
- Deliver compelling product presentations at all management levels.

Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience in large account sales with strategic thinking skills for identifying new business opportunities.
- Strong technical background in optical networking, with a solid understanding of network engineering.
- Excellent business acumen and financial literacy.
- Proficient in network management systems; familiarity with Salesforce.com for reporting is a plus.
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills in both Spanish and English.
- Strong networking abilities and keen market intelligence regarding competitors.

Desired Characteristics:
- Motivated self-starter with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of influencing stakeholders to achieve objectives.
- Creative problem solver with a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of telecom carrier structures and decision-making processes, particularly within carrier environments, is advantageous.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 7 years in customer-facing system sales, system engineering, or network engineering roles.

This position is critical for driving CIENA's success in the region, requiring a strategic mindset and a commitment to building strong partnerships.

The annual total target compensation pay range for this position is $224,800 - $371,300 USD.This includes both base and incentive compensation. (For Sales roles that are TTC in the Salary Range Tool)

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission. In addition to competitive compensation, Ciena offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, participation in 401(K) (USA) & DCPP (Canada) with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company-paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
