This position will be based in St. Louis or Kansas City, MO and requires regular travel within your assigned territory. Occasional travel to company sites may be required as needed.

Join the dynamic team at Gallo as a Market Development Manager for Retail and On-Premise positions. We're on the lookout for passionate individuals who can drive the sale and distribution of Gallo brands through strategic sales and marketing initiatives. In this role, you will collaborate closely with distributor personnel to execute monthly programs, close sales gaps, and expand our points of distribution. Your keen understanding of distributor deal structures and competitive pricing will be crucial in identifying opportunities and sharing market insights with management.

As a Market Development Manager, you will strategically plan your time each month to maximize sales growth, making decisive choices to focus on the highest opportunities. Your role includes training and coaching distributor sales representatives and district managers, gathering market intelligence, and ensuring consistent pricing with state brand guidelines. You will also be involved in motivating and supporting distributor management and sales teams through kick-offs, new program introductions, and crew drives.

Your ability to adapt to change, engage with accounts and distributor personnel, and leverage digital marketing programs and technology will be essential. You will act as a Gallo Ambassador, promoting our brands through events, social media, and community engagement. Developing positive relationships with accounts, distributor management, and personnel is key, as is your responsibility for managing business expenses and ensuring compliance with quality, environmental, and safety regulations.

What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of CPG sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to obtain liquor license as required by state/locality.
  • Required to see, taste, and smell wine and perform wine tastings as part of job functions.
  • Required to be 21 years of age or older.
  • Required to travel by air and automobile up to 50% during the course of business
  • Experience demonstrating strong leadership selling, time management, public speaking skills.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What You Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of Gallo Winery or distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

Compensation:

  • Hiring salary range posted: $93,100- $139,650/ year
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
