Sourcing & Procurement IT Manager

Accenture Sourcing & Procurement is growing and seeking to enhance our IT Center of Excellence with someone who fits our strong and vibrant culture. We are looking for a driven professional who is committed to building a great business and to having a seat at the table in making key decisions and influencing their career.

The Manager will have a dedicated focus on Accentures IT Center of Excellence to support all aspects of client-facing IT sourcing and cost optimization projects. The Manager will be expected to work closely with clients and suppliers to drive project initiatives and will lead consulting, problem solving, project management and data analysis that will be the basis for strategic client decision making. Further, the Manager will play an important role in deepening the expertise of Accentures IT Center of Excellence and capturing knowledge to support business development opportunities while helping scale Accentures IT capabilities.

Typical client-facing projects would involve IT within the context of:

  • Strategic sourcing and cost optimization (both within a company and across a portfolio of companies)
  • Managed service support for strategic negotiations and software renewal pipeline
  • Procurement opportunity assessment and opportunity roadmap
  • Procurement transformation
  • Spend analytics
  • Make vs. buy decision analysis
  • Benchmarking and best practices implementation

The ideal candidate possesses some experience and exposure to IT procurement and/or negotiations across areas such as IT Services & Labor, IT Infrastructure, IT Software, and Telecommunications. The Manager will be expected to infuse Accentures Sourcing & Procurement consulting business with their expertise across clients IT spend stacks, while also building upon their current IT Procurement base and demonstrating a strong aptitude for learning.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Project Execution
    • Ensure effective delivery of client project work and client deliverables through strong project management, team management, and client management skills
    • Create robust sourcing strategies and recommendations
    • Provide IT thought leadership and benchmarking
    • Manage project support resources and coordinate with subject matter experts within and outside of the firm
    • Develop and nurture relationships with clients
    • Work with contractors, consultants, and internal /external resources to align priorities, accomplish objectives, and satisfy all stakeholders
    • Facilitate development of project plans and overall project management to ensure effective delivery of client project work and client deliverables
    • Contribute to the IT Center of Excellences strategic decisions and direction
    • Exhibit integrity in decisions and firm relationships
    • Achieve excellence and dependability through the execution of projects and initiatives
  • Business Development
    • Support sales calls
    • Develop sales-support materials
    • Provide IT thought leadership
    • Support development and review of client IT Spend summaries
    • Support development of new products and service offerings within IT practice
    • Work with team to identify and assess opportunities for savings and cost optimization through various IT sourcing levers
  • Practice Development
    • Create and curate deliverable content (POV slides, case studies, whitepapers, etc.) to capture IT category knowledge and ultimately support internal knowledge share and business development
    • Develop and execute strategies to aggregate data for ongoing benchmarking, insight generation, and data analysis
    • Assist with ongoing development and management of intellectual capital

Heres what you need:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant business experience
  • Procurement and sourcing experience, including exposure to IT negotiations
  • A bachelors degree in business, engineering, or a related field
  • Strong client services skills/orientation developed by working with either internal business customers or preferably external consulting clients
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage multiple projects, tasks, and/or initiatives simultaneously, especially related to IT projects

Bonus Points If:

  • You have a strategic sourcing AND consulting background
  • You have a depth of IT category and procurement expertise in one or more of the following hardware, software, infrastructure, networking, cloud services, labor
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to manage resources performing complex analytics to develop client decision support data
  • You excel in building and developing relationships, overseeing complex programs, and demonstrating leadership
  • You have deep experience in software sourcing, negotiations and contracting
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to present comfortably to senior executives
  • You are comfortable in an entrepreneurial, performance-driven environment
  • You have earned an MBA or equivalent graduate degree
  • Prior experience in driving insights using visualization tools (i.e., Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx) and analytics tools (i.e., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York or Washington as set forth below.
