We are a growing SaaS company with multiple product lines. As we scale, ensuring the reliability, security, and compliance of our infrastructure is a top priority. We are currently pursuing SOC2 compliance and expanding our cloud operations, which has created an exciting opportunity for a Cloud Infrastructure and Security Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure & Security Engineer to take ownership of our AWA infrastructure and help us maintain a secure and compliant environment. In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Engineering and our Junior infrastructure engineer to manage and optimize our cloud operations, build and improve deployment pipelines, and ensure adherence to SOC2 and security requirements. This position offers a unique blend of cloud management, DevOps, and security responsibilities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

AWS Infrastructure (55%)

  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure AWS environments, including EC2 instances, Elastic Beanstalk applications, RDS databases, and VPCs
  • Implement infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
  • Monitor and optimize AWS resources for performance, availability, and cost
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues and ensure high uptime
DEVOps (15%)
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for various products
  • Collaborate with development teams to streamline build and deployment processes
  • Ensure smooth and reliable software deployments across environments
SOC2 and Security Compliance (15%)
  • Lead efforts to maintain SOC2 compliance, including policy development, evidence collection, and audit readiness
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that security controls are properly implemented and documented
  • Respond to customer security questionnaires and support sales teams in security-related inquiries
System and Application Security (15%)
  • Implement and monitor security best practices across all systems and applications
  • Manage IAM roles, security groups, and encryption mechanisms
  • Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans
  • Stay up to date with the latest security trends and proactively address potential risks

The Individual:
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of SOC2 or similar compliance frameworks
  • Strong understanding of network and application security best practices
  • Experience working in a SaaS environment
  • Familiarity with containerization or orchestration tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of managing cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on AWS
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, Cloudformation)
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience in a SaaS
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Security Specialty, CISSP
