Overview

The Safety Intern will be assigned to a specific job site to support the safety team while progressing toward the established internship objectives. This role involves close collaboration with the site safety team to observe and assist with daily operations in both office and field environments.

Responsibilities

    Arrive at the assigned job site on time and prepared to work.
  • Assist in conducting daily morning safety meetings.
  • Support the site safety team in performing comprehensive site safety audits.
  • Attend site meetings with clients to gain insight into the client-contractor partnership and professional relationships.
  • Collaborate with the site safety team to effectively manage and respond to jobsite injuries.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of safety protocols specific to CCR and heavy civil activities at the assigned job site.
  • Participate in weekly safety team calls and provide constructive feedback when appropriate.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Safety Director.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in computer programs such as MS Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines while maintaining a focus on quality and process improvement.
  • Ability to maintain job or task focus in pressured or time-sensitive situations.
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated.
  • Willingness and demonstrative initiative to learn new programs, systems, and tools as they become available.

Educational Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program studying Safety Management, Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Previous internship experience is preferred but not required.

Travel:

  • This position will travel to designated sites as directed by the Safety Director.
