Job Summary:

University Health Services is seeking a Medical Program Assistant with administrative experience in a healthcare setting, diversity in customer service, and excellent written and verbal communication skills to join our team to support students, providers, and mental health services.

Performs administrative duties to support providers, staff, services, and unit programs. May serve as the primary contact or customer service representative and subject matter expert. Tracks, prioritizes, organizes, and completes multiple ongoing clinical, research or academic projects.


Responsibilities:
Performs administrative duties to support providers, staff, services, and unit programs. May serve as the primary contact or customer service representative and subject matter expert. Tracks, prioritizes, organizes, and completes multiple ongoing clinical, research or academic projects. Requires Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) knowledge or training.

  • 75% Performs administrative tasks including telephone customer service, word processing, transcribing, filing, and calendaring
  • 5% Acts as the primary liaison for providers or programs and refers stakeholders to providers, agencies, patients, and staff
  • 10% Assists in coordinating the complex daily activities of providers or program(s) by entering information into databases, maintaining files and materials, and preparing reports
  • 5% Serves as the primary contact and subject matter expert for specified program policies and procedures
  • 5% Identifies opportunities for program improvements and makes recommendations to the appropriate entities

Education:

Preferred

Strongly Preferred:
Post-High School certification or degree


Qualifications:

Required:
- Minimum of one year customer service experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office and basic office equipment

Preferred:
- Experience with MS Office, multiple computer platforms, and scheduling software
- Experience with electronic health record scheduling software
- Administrative experience in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with a variety of internal and external contacts
- Ability to work independently and to problem-solve
- Ability to organize and prioritize work in a busy environment
- Experience working with under-represented groups
- Awareness of diversity and inclusion in the workplace


Work Schedule:

8:30AM-5:00PM Monday - Friday


Work Type:

Full Time: 100%

This position will require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location. Subject to change based on operational needs.
