OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is seeking a college or graduate school Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering student for a paid summer internship for Summer 2025 in our Aiken, SC office. Imagine working on rewarding client projects and being exposed to unparalleled training and development opportunities!

The summer internship has a commitment of approximately mid-May through mid-August 2025.

We will be accepting resumes for this opportunity through February 16, 2025. Resumes will be reviewed as they are received. Interviews will be in January/February 2025. Offer will be extended in March 2025. Timeframe subject to change.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Merrick Intern Program will provide an undergraduate or graduate student an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of structural engineering. The intern will be exposed to a variety of structural engineering items potentially including: structural analysis using computer finite element analysis, structural steel design, concrete design, analysis of existing structures, exposure to ASCE, AISC and ACI codes and standards, and exposure to drawing creation using AutoCAD as well as engineering quality assurance procedures.

The position requires the collaboration with other disciplines, ability to interface with clients and contractors, follow schedules and budget commitments, work independently, possess good written and oral communication skills and the ability to problem solve. Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school
  • Must be pursuing an engineering degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited program
  • Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience or exposure to AutoCAD.
  • Previous internship in Civil/Structural Engineering.
