Business Intelligence Analyst

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and process-driven Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to play a pivotal role in the development, administration, and enhancement of Hillpointe's PowerBI dashboards. This individual will be responsible for ensuring accurate, insightful, and efficient reporting solutions to support the Asset Management department and business leaders across the organization. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and drive actionable data insights to improve operational efficiency and decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with financial and accounting data, a strong understanding of BI tools (specifically PowerBI), and a track record of successful project management. They will be adept at creating clear and concise reporting solutions, developing training materials for end-users, and maintaining thorough documentation, including data dictionaries.

This position reports directly to the Managing Director of Asset Management.

Key Responsibilities:



  • PowerBI Dashboard Development & Management: Build, maintain, and optimize PowerBI dashboards that deliver actionable insights and support strategic decision-making across the organization.


  • Reporting Automation & Efficiency: Support the preparation and automation of Hillpointe's monthly and quarterly internal and external reporting packages, identifying opportunities for streamlining and improving efficiency.


  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize Excel, SQL, and other analytical tools to extract, manipulate, and analyze data, providing valuable insights to internal stakeholders.


  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to understand their data needs and reporting requirements, ensuring the accuracy and relevance of all BI solutions.


  • Training & Documentation: Create user-friendly training tutorials and documentation, including a comprehensive data dictionary, to ensure the organization's teams can independently interpret and leverage BI solutions effectively.


  • Project Management: Oversee the intake of reporting requests from stakeholders, managing timelines, setting clear expectations, and delivering high-quality outputs on time.


  • Data Integrity & Quality Assurance: Monitor and validate financial data to ensure accuracy and integrity in all reporting processes, performing detailed checks to uphold data quality.


  • Strategic Insights & Recommendations: Provide data-driven recommendations and insights that influence business decisions, helping leaders identify trends, risks, and opportunities.


Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.




  • 3-5 years of experience in a business intelligence role, with a strong focus on PowerBI dashboard creation, data visualization, and report development.


  • Experience working with financial and accounting data, with a solid understanding of key metrics in real estate or private equity (preferred).


  • 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, including proficiency in SQL for complex queries and data manipulation; familiarity with Python is a plus.


  • Previous experience in project management, specifically in intake, timeline management, and delivery of data-related projects.


  • Proficiency in PowerBI and Excel.


  • Experience maintaining documentation, such as data dictionaries, and creating training materials for end-users.


  • Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) is a bonus.


  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a strong ability to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies in data.


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in an easily digestible format for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality.




  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks and projects.
