IoT Technical Engineer

Your main responsibilities

PRIMARY FUNCTION / POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a motivated and tech-savvy IoT Technical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will provide technical support for our Internet of Things (IoT) devices and systems, assisting customers and internal teams with troubleshooting, configuration, and maintenance of IoT solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Describe the key responsibilities of the position in order of importance and identify % of time spent on that responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

* Respond to Technical On-Call Center (TOC) inquiries and troubleshoot IoT device issues

* Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems related to IoT devices and their connectivity

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate complex issues and contribute to product improvements

* Document all interactions, solutions, and recurring issues in the ticketing system

* Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of software on IoT devices

* Analyze large datasets from IoT devices to identify trends and patterns, providing valuable insights for business decision-making

What you bring

FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

1. Platform Knowledge (MS Office, Postman API, Atlassian) - Minimum 2 years

2. Diagnostics and Troubleshooting (e.g. conducting data analysis and documenting conclusion and recommendation)- Minimum 2 years

3. SAP and business processes

4. Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and IoT concepts, IT architecture and software

5. Familiarity with various operating systems (Linux, Windows)

Additional Requirements

* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

* Strong written and verbal communication abilities

Preferred Qualifications

* Knowledge of IoT protocols (e.g., MQTT)

* Basic programming skills (e.g., Python)

* Familiarity with platforms (Azure IoT, Postman API, Docker)

* Familiarity with cellular networking knowledge

* Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users

* Strong time management and multitasking abilities

* Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies
