The starting base salary range for a Manager- Dental Performance is I is $81,000 to $117,000. Actual salaries will vary by geographic location and are based on factors such as candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, competencies, and company tenure & equity. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for a annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance.

Advanced working knowledge of the healthcare insurance industry is a minimum requirement in order to be considered.

Manager-Dental Performance Overview:

Provides leadership and management to the Dental Performance team. Works closely with vendors and business partners to proactively monitor service levels through reporting tools that correlate to business metrics and support financial control measures for the dental team. Routinely assesses department needs against risks and provides strategic guidance and resolutions as needed. Gathers, analyzes, documents, validates and prioritizes the needs of business stakeholders including data intelligence, reporting and business automation. Contributes toward establishing Dental Operations as a center of excellence through improved efficiency and performance.

Essential Duties



  • Provides subject matter and strategic expertise as required on all Dental Operations projects, goals, and key initiatives
  • Manages all aspects of the project lifecycle and leads multi-disciplinary project teams through demonstration of best practices, teamwork, and collaboration skills. Integrates business functional content expertise among the project team and seeks out the participation of organizational subject matter experts.
  • Oversees the resolution of escalations, issues and improvements as assigned, often working outside the department with stakeholders as well as outside the company with partners, vendors, regulatory agencies and clients
  • Partners with multiple departments and senior management to define requirements based on current and future business needs.
  • Develops and manages data and reporting capabilities for the Dental Team. Documents and serves as the subject matter expert on internally developed dental business tools.
  • Consistently drives and identifies all opportunities for automation and adoption of systems and contributes to the implementation.
  • Conceptualizes, designs, tests and implements solutions to increase efficiency for the dental business through process automation, tracking, and reporting tools.
  • Identifies and resolves escalated risks, issues, and concerns involving business solutions and data repositories. Identifies and applies 'lessons learned' to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Creates and maintains processes that address all compliance and quality measures with ability to audit, remediate and report. Develops processes to support quality improvement measures.
  • Uses data on a routine basis to provide tracking, trending and analysis. Populates scorecard and provides an analytical overview with proposed resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Serves as the liaison between partners and company to assist in client issue resolution, onboarding and ongoing customer experience management.
  • Provides valuable proactive knowledge and coordination to process impacts and solutions to improve overall customer outcomes.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Advanced working knowledge of the healthcare insurance industry and business-related operations and processes
  • Knowledge of information gathering, planning, and organizing methods and principles
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills including the ability to address a wide range of audiences
  • Advanced skills in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, and Project
  • High level organizational skills that maximize effectiveness using time management, deliverable adherence and retention of knowledge and documentation
  • Documentation skills to ensure overall compliance, training and workflows are able to be retrieved in a user-friendly manner
  • Ability to prioritize workflow and maintain attention to detail within time constraints
  • Ability to synthesize data from divergent sources and create a final product with a consistent voice, look, and feel
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into upstream and downstream business process impacts and articulate back requirements to reduce or mitigate
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to create and maintain relationships throughout the organization that establish trust, sharing and partnerships
  • Ability to manage change effectively and support team adoption of change without impact to morale or performance
  • Ability to motivate, coach and lead staff


Required Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years' related work experience leading programs, projects and/or relationships; or 2 or more years supervisory and/or team lead experience
  • Extensive knowledge of claims systems
  • Advanced working knowledge of the healthcare insurance industry

  • Extensive knowledge dental policies
  • Project management experience
  • Experience communicating to senior leadership
  • Experience with process mapping/process documentation
