What we expect
- Support the Automotive Aftermarket and OEM organizations through the complete product lifecycle, from pre-sales systems engineering consulting to post-sale implementation
- Provide technical support in application research, product demonstrations, and installation/maintenance of company products
- Ensure systems function according to specifications and meet quality standards
- Support on-site automotive customer engagements to identify and develop new LED product opportunities
- Serve as technical liaison to drive design wins
- Conduct thermal management simulations, mechanical, electrical, and optical design, and system integration
- Coordinate with the Automotive design/development team to communicate customer needs and requirements
- Provide comprehensive application support to R&D initiatives, product marketing, sales channels, and customers
- Conduct product and application benchmarking following standard practices and analyze performance data
- Support extensive application analysis, testing, and design for new forward lighting portfolio development
Business Impact:
- Critical role in expanding the SSL Aftermarket forward lighting portfolio
- Essential for developing application knowledge of the current vehicle base
- Strengthens R&D and customer-facing support capabilities
- Complements existing AE resources to provide comprehensive coverage across research and customer support functions
Who we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Proven track record of technical customer support in the automotive industry
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction across all organizational levels
- Superior planning and organizational skills, with ability to multi-task and set priorities as a remote individual contributor
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree (reduces experience requirement to 3 years)
- Experience with basic optical concepts and CAD software
- Familiarity with traditional incandescent, halogen, and HID technologies
Special Requirements: This position requires travel, including out of state, to support customers on-site. Working Environment: The role operates independently with minimal guidance and may provide direction to lower-level employees. The position involves complex problem-solving that typically extends beyond established guidelines. Problems handled are typically of complex scope and require innovative approaches, with minimal reference to established guidelines.
