What we are looking for

We have a GREAT opportunity to hire a Field Employment Specialist dedicated to the operations of the new Mobile Career Center. The mobile unit will serve all 45 counties of Goodwill of North GA.

Essential Functions:




  • The right person will be:



    • Self-directed, flexible in hours and days, willingness to travel almost daily (will have to pick up van and return it to designated parking garage).
    • Experienced in outreach and partnership collaborations.
    • Focused in serving and placing individuals through job search assistance, digital literacy, job readiness workshops, and job fairs/hiring events. Future potential of offering mobile skills training.
    • Primarily engaged with organizations and employers within our area of service. You will be taking services to the public rather than the public coming to a brick-and-mortar location.
    • Working closely with the area assigned career centers and retail locations.
    • Able to operate a 24ft bus safely.
    • Have a good driving record.
    • Able to lift 40 lbs. and move items around once at location.
    • Goal-oriented and results driven.



    Job Requirements and Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling, vocational rehabilitation, or a counseling-related field or
  • Bachelor's degree in vocational rehabilitation or a counseling-related field AND one (1) year experience in a related field or
  • Associate's degree in a vocationally related field AND two (2) years experience in a related field or
  • Three (3) years experience in counseling linking with community resources, special education, or instruction.
  • Strong sales background.
  • Good time management, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Specialized knowledge that will assist in the ability to obtain contracts and negotiate fee-for-service opportunities including strong working knowledge of medical, psychological, social, and vocational aspects of disability and/or disadvantaging conditions; of community resources; of occupational information and job readiness.
  • Proven ability to develop strategic relationships, and extensive experience networking with employers and industry leaders.
  • Must be computer literate and functional in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to provide positive leadership in a flexible geographic environment where self-direction, prioritizing, and organizational skills will be crucial to success.
  • Ability to be flexible in hours and work locations (across greater service area) to accommodate the needs of the Business contracts, Program, and Goodwill.
  • Strong ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain positive working relationships with a wide variety of organizations and individuals.


Working Environment Conditions/Requirements:



  • Position is an onsite office position and required to report to the office daily during normal business hours.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation and a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for occasional offsite career fairs and events.
  • The ability to push, pull and lift 40lbs. with or without accommodations.
  • Must be able to meet all physical requirements to perform all duties relating to Career Services including driving, material handling, transporting and carrying documents, handbooks and various supplies.
