The Lead Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing large-scale network infrastructure solutions while ensuring network security, performance, and compliance. This role involves overseeing network architecture, working closely with other engineering teams for integrated solutions, and supporting incident response and troubleshooting. The Lead Network Engineer will establish enterprise-wide networking solutions using Juniper routers, switches, firewalls, Palo Alto firewalls, and F5 load balancers while



Job Description

    Design, deploy, and manage large-scale network infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop and implement architecture for software, hardware, and communications that support current and future network requirements.
  • Establish network information requirements through analysis and collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Ensure network infrastructure is compliant with relevant security standards and guidelines (including STIG compliance).
  • Implement security measures to safeguard network and data integrity, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, and encryption protocols.
  • Monitor and manage network performance, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, coordinating with engineering teams for root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Coordinate with other engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions and ensure compatibility across systems.

  • Provide network-related guidance and support to other teams for enterprise-level projects.
  • Provide support in handling network-related incidents and outages, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Lead efforts in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Lead and provide daily supervision and direction to a team of network engineers.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide leadership on network-related projects.
  • Ensure team productivity, efficiency, and quality of work through effective management.
  • Analyze and evaluate network issues, workflows, and usage patterns to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to improve overall network performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of network architecture, configurations, and processes.
  • Prepare regular reports on network status, performance, and incidents for senior management.


Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum Security Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in network engineering with at least 3 years in a leadership or lead role.
  • Extensive experience with Juniper routers, switches, firewalls, Palo Alto firewalls, and F5 load balancers.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with network performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response.
  • Proficient in network protocols, routing, and switching (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, etc.).
  • Experience ensuring network compliance with security standards (STIG, NIST, etc.).
