The Department of Human Services is actively seeking a hardworking and dedicated person to be a part of our dietary team at Clarks Summit State Hospital. The work you accomplish in this position will help us continue to provide outstanding care to the patients residing at the hospital. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Food Service Worker 1, you will perform a variety of food service, food preparation, and sanitation tasks in the dietary operation on a rotational basis. Your duties will include minor food preparation and service for catered hospital functions. You may also perform assembly tasks in the supplemental, nourishment, and snack areas by using the most current patient census for distribution. You can expect to prepare simple menu items such as broth, sandwiches, and bagged meals as appropriate. Additionally, you will perform cleaning and sanitation duties, as well as assist in stocking food and non-food supplies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Sunday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will have every third weekend off.
  • Overtime and travel as needed.
  • This may change based on operational needs.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
