Blair County Children, Youth, and Families (BCCYF) is looking for a Social Services Aide 1 to provide supportive services to those served by our agency. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Social Services Aide 1, you will provide supportive services to include visitation, transportation and other services that may help address and reduce concerns within the family. You will have the opportunity to work with families on goal setting, budging, home safety and housekeeping, health and wellness, and time management. Assisting caseworkers with transportation, placement visits, and referrals to community programs will be included in your duties. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Coordinating items donated to the agency
- Contacting agencies related to community referral programs
- Supervising children during hearings and family meetings
- Attending meetings, trainings, seminars, and conferences as required

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Irregular work schedule may occur depending on the needs of the agency.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Graduation from high school; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
