DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will take on the responsibilities of Hazardous and Universal Waste Program Manager, fostering strong relationships with PAANG and DMVA personnel to ensure compliance with key regulations such as the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Toxic Substances Control Act, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, executive orders, and all relevant federal, state, local, and Air Force regulations. You will oversee training, direct, and monitor shop personnel, ensuring that all operations adhere to regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will assess processes, interpret sampling data, and ensure the proper characterization and disposal of waste in compliance with applicable standards. As part of your duties, you will provide technical expertise to shop personnel and coordinate waste management, transfers, and evaluations. You will also manage the Enterprise Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Management Information System (EESOH-MIS), overseeing the removal of hazardous waste from the installation via the Defense Logistics Agency and maintaining accurate records within the system. You will serve as the Air Program Information Management System Program Manager, ensuring that all air quality-related data is accurately entered into the database and that all air emissions at the installation are properly tracked. In addition, you will manage the vehicle emissions and inspection program, collaborating with human resources and security forces to ensure compliance among all relevant employees. Your responsibilities will also include training newly assigned unit environmental coordinators and shop personnel, conducting inspections, and ensuring ongoing compliance with policies. - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 5 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of professional environmental protection program experience and a bachelor's degree, which includes 24 credits in the physical, biological, or environmental sciences; or
- An equivalent combination of professional experience and training, which includes 24 college credits in the physical, biological, or environmental sciences.
Condition of Employment:
- This position is required to obtain valid certification in 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations, Procedures and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training within six months of hire and successfully complete 8-hour annual HAZWOPER refresher training thereafter.
Other Requirements:
- You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Pittsburgh Airbase.
