We're seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Accounting II to join our Accounting and Finance team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA--HYBRID. . In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Contribute to BNY accounting activities of multiple legal entities and Lines of Business including but not limited to Asset Servicing, Markets, Clearance & Collateral Management businesses.
- Support enterprise and business initiatives such as the Deposits, Loans and Billing Platforms.
- Complete core accounting activities:
- Originate and process complex general ledger (G/L) transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform intra-month, month and quarter-end accounting close.
- Participate in G/L and ICFR/SOX controls audits; assess process control gaps and assist with remediation efforts.
- Identify and complete continuous process improvements to help run the company better.
- Support ad-hoc requests in accordance with accounting process standards.
- Collaborate with business leads to understand client contracts/fee schedules as necessary to evaluate the proper revenue recognition treatments, revenue accruals, including working with Relationship Managers to accomplish these objectives. Proactively elevate issues identified and propose solutions.
- Support Operations to appropriately setup internal operating accounts (IOA) in the Bank's subledgers such as IMMS (International Money Management System). Understand downstream financial reporting impacts of such transactions.
- Complete various projects and training objectives to understand end to end business processes that impact financial reporting in the general ledger (GL).
- Research and understand LOB specific source systems and sub-ledger reports, including how source system data maps to the GL; tease out potential accounting improvement opportunities to propose/implement improvements.
- Build relationships to ensure questions from auditors, senior management and line of business are answered.
- Possess well written and oral communication skills to communicate complex financial data with our business partners.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA is preferred but not required.
- 6-8 years of experience.
