We provide comprehensive training (9-12 weeks) to get you ready for success-both in the classroom and hands-on in our clinics. Our Bridge to Your Dreams Program supports PCTs in obtaining their RN license or ASN. Your success is in your hands-performance-driven career advancement tailored to your goals. Schedule & Flexibility: Clinics operate Monday-Saturday, from 4:00 AM - 9:30 PM, and are closed Sundays. Flexible shifts, 3-4 days a week, with rotating Saturdays. Schedules are set 3-4 weeks in advance, with shifts ranging from 10-12 hours. Must be available for both opening and closing shifts, and some holidays. Requirements to Become a PCT at DaVita: An accredited high school diploma or GED is required. Comfort with working around blood and needles. Ability to mix acid or bicarbonate. Physical stamina to stand for long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours). Healthcare experience (e.g., BONENT Certified, CHT, CNA, CMA, or Phlebotomy) is a plus. Your Role as a Patient Care Technician: Direct Patient Care: Provide 1:1 care to ensure safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatments for up to 4 patients at a time. Technician Duties: Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis. Record stats, observe patient progress, and set up the hemodialysis machine. Continuous Improvement: Constantly find ways to enhance patient care and team efficiency. Help us build the greatest healthcare community. Building Relationships: Dialysis patients need treatments 3 times a week. Build meaningful relationships by educating and supporting patients in managing kidney disease. Teamwork: Collaborate with nurses, technicians, dietitians, social workers, and leadership-all under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
