POSITION PURPOSE:

Position is responsible for preparing the designs and layouts of buildings, foundations, utilities, machinery, tools, and associated equipment. Also responsible for investigating problems and recommending action to be taken.

PRIMARY ACTIVITIES:

1. Makes design layouts involving stress analysis, vibration studies, mechanics and structural, machine and tool design.

2. Makes drawings of concrete work, structural, piping, utilities, single part details, machine assemblies and equipment.

3. Prepares bills of material, specification sheets, procedures, instructions and any technical work necessary to complete designs and assignments.

4. Recommend redesign, repair or rebuilding to overcome difficulties and meet requirements.

5. Responsible for accuracy, mathematical computations and functional efficiency of designs.

6. Maintains working records and prepares reports and correspondence concerning design and installation of buildings, foundations, utilities, machine tools and associated equipment.

Knowledge of plant facility/maintenance engineering relating to buildings, foundations, utilities, machinery, tools and other related equipment acquired through 3-5 years of experience. Education preferred is an Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering.
