Job Summary
The Process Engineer III is responsible for performing advanced design and analysis work as directed to support various field and fabrication offices. This role may act as a discipline lead for projects, managing internal and external resources.
Essential Functions

  • Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."

  • Develops broad knowledge and skills in a specific practice area.
  • Evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features.
  • Collaboratively uses judgement to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments.
  • Works on small projects or on portions of large projects.
  • Develop P&IDs.
  • Perform process simulation and develop process flow diagrams with stream tables.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations, relief calculations and studies, generate process control narratives and prepare equipment and instrumentation data sheets.
  • Perform sizing calculations for process equipment, inline instruments using company developed tools.
  • Coordinates tasks and work with entry level engineers, designers, or administrative staff.
  • Assists in preparing and managing scope, budget and schedule for projects or assignments to include any discipline internal or external resources assigned to support their projects are within scope, budget and schedule.
  • Coordinate with Mechanical, Instrumentation and Controls and Procurement disciplines in evaluating vendor bids.
  • Checks work for compliance with customer requirements, operational safety, and overall quality assurance .
  • Receives instruction on specific objectives.
  • Receives direction on unconventional and/or complex problems, and formulates possible solutions.
  • Receives completed work by others for application of sound professional judgment.
  • Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Cooperates with other team members; interacts with individuals at all organizational levels in a professional manner.
  • Assists with PM, client, customer contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.
  • Supports Facility Startups & Commissioning activities in the field.
  • Performs other related duties, as directed.


Qualifications

  • BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required, MS degree preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
  • 5+ years related engineering experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.
  • Experience with gas pretreatment units and gas liquefaction units preferred.
  • Experience with low pressure refrigerated and cryogenic process equipment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Aspen HYSYS or equivalent process simulation package is required.
  • Familiarity with smart P&ID and plant management software (AVEVA, Hexagon, Comos) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 58, 59, 59A, API 520, 521, ASME B31.3 Codes preferred. Ability to understand client specifications, procurement, commissioning and start-up standards, documentation, practices, vendor data approvals, etc., required.
  • Refrigerated & Cryogenic Liquids, Ammonia and Hydrogen experience preferred. Cooperates with other team members; interacts with individuals at all organizational levels in professional manner.
  • Exhibits excellent listening, oral and written skills.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously under time sensitive deadlines.
  • Demonstratives a proactive approach and consistently positive demeanor.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Occasional overtime and travel may be required.
