Production Control Coordinator - 2nd shift

POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinates efforts among supervisors, planners, engineers, shifts, departments, and plants to support manufacturing execution.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with production management to maintain adherence to schedule and prioritize production jobs according to deadlines and resource availability.
  • Ensure that all necessary materials, equipment, and resources are available and allocated for each production job, communicating effectively with relevant departments to prevent delays.
  • Regularly monitor the progress of production jobs on the floor, addressing any issues or bottlenecks that may arise to ensure timely completion.
  • Assist in managing inventory levels by monitoring stock levels and maintaining accurate records of inventory transactions.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including job orders, inventory levels, and production reports. Prepare and distribute reports to relevant stakeholders as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the production workflow, making recommendations to management for implementation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associates degree or equivalent.
  • 3+ years related experience including 1+ year in manufacturing or inventory
SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills. Solid organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to facilitate and assist with leading activities required for achieving KPIs and meeting team goals.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of production floor environment and inventory control procedures.
  • Working knowledge of current software utilized for production planning and material control desired.
  • Understanding of JIT principles.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent PC and keyboard/mouse skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Job functions in a manufacturing plant and office environment. Work experiences regular temperature changes and occasional exposure and discomfort to heat, dust, noise, and the like.
  • Extended work hours occasionally required.
  • Work requires frequent or occasional computer use, keyboarding and in some case, occasional lifting, pulling or carrying up to 20 pounds.
  • Work requires concentration on paperwork, computers, data etc., and frequent pressures related to meeting deadlines, scheduling requirements and simultaneous projects.
  • Work is frequently affected by distracting influences such as people, telephone calls, etc.
