About the DDM Summer Internship Program:

The Dotdash Meredith Summer Internship Program is a 9 week full time, paid program that runs from June 9th - August 8th, based out of our New York office. The intern program consists of hands-on learning opportunities to create work that has an impact on the business, along with workshops in preparing you for post-college life (resume / interviewing) plus fun events throughout the summer!

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Internships are available to students who will be Juniors and Seniors in Fall 2025 at an accredited college or university

  • You must be available to work full time for the entire 9 weeks of the program in the NY office, 3 days a week

  • You must have access to your own housing and transportation to/from the NY office

About the Team:

The Food Brand Design team at Dotdash Meredith helps define the visual brand execution for Food & Wine, Allrecipes, Serious Eats, Simply Recipes, and MyRecipes. We are building engaging experiences that excite users and amplify the voice of our brands. Collectively, we work on graphics for digital channels such as site, social, and email, along with establishing and maintaining brand identity standards. Our team's role is to help develop and execute the visual voice for our food brands as we adapt to the latest innovations in the digital space. Our mission is to create the highest quality designs and content, ensuring the visuals reflect what is current and fresh for our brands.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Design Intern towork closely with our Art Directors, Visual Editors, Senior Designers, and Editorial Leads to craftcohesive digital brand design experiences. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to create strong visual designs that support our digital content strategy and engage and delight our audiences. As aDesign Intern at Dotdash Meredith, you will be responsible for doing competitive research,designing the look and feel of various brand elements and refining and iterating on those ideas for various stakeholders.

Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Help maintain cohesive expressions of visual identities for multiple brands

  • Concept and produce custom artwork as directed for various digital brand channels including Editorial, Social, Video, and Growth

  • Take ownership of assigned design projects, collaborate with stakeholders and other designers, take direction from Creative/Art Directors, and follow established processes to ensure smooth delivery of creative assets

  • Collaborate with the UX design team and Design Operations team as needed

  • Attend meetings with stakeholders from editorial, social, video, and growth teams

  • Attend recurring Design Team meetings and other group functions

  • Present design solutions and help build consensus among a broad range of stakeholders

  • Participate in brainstorming and critique sessions that foster big-picture thinking while identifying opportunities to raise the bar on the details

  • Keep project management tickets up to date, communicate progress, keep files organized, follow slack channels, and meet deadlines

About You:

Candidates for this role should have or be:

  • Interested in digital social media for a large brand

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Google Suite

  • Strong typography and editorial design skills

  • Open to new challenges and excited to grow within a fast-paced, expanding, and constantly evolving organization

  • Creative and driven self-starter that can take direction and run with it, asking questions up front to ensure you're able to complete the task successfully

  • Motivated problem solver who will proactively troubleshoot and create solution

  • Motion design/animation, illustration, and Figma skills are a plus

  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.

Pay Range

Hourly: New York: $20.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
