Schedule: Sunday - Thursday; 3p - 11:30p Location: San Jose, CA | Cisco campus The BAS Operator serves as the primary point of contact for monitoring and coordinating all facility systems. This role involves collecting, prioritizing, and responding to both planned and unplanned events. The BAS Operator is responsible for handling active alarms, emergency work orders, notifications, escalations, and facilitating communication between vendors, engineering teams, and management. The BAS team operates 24/7, 365 days a year, ensuring continuous support and oversight. Responsibilities Conduct shift handovers and pass down information. Perform daily electronic rounds via WebCtrl. Monitor and respond to Building Controls & Automation (BCA) issues at the San Jose Campus. Respond to email escalations and monitor the engineering queue. Dispatch engineers for urgent issues (P2) or escalations. Monitor critical systems and network slowness. Maintain the BCA electronic dashboard and send notifications for planned/unplanned events. Answer BCA phone calls and radio communications. Monitor Corrigo and assign new cases in the engineering queue. Create cases for ALC findings and failures. Provide support for fire alarms, elevator entrapments, and vendor coordination. Ensure vendor work is approved on arrival, check if a Change Request (CR) is needed, and confirm dates. Help create sub-work orders and email Facility Managers (FMs) for vendor-related issues. Assist with fire impairment and burn permits as needed. Keep BCA logs and binders updated. Fill out entrapment forms for elevator incidents. Complete assigned training courses. Perform other duties as assigned. Verify CWA's when vendors check in and contact the EHS team if needed. Requirements / Experience: 2+ years of experience in building automations, networking, or related fields; experience with WebCTRL a plus High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent Excel skills required - Experience in formatting and manipulating templates and formulas Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages. Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 30 lbs. or more |
