OverviewMicrosoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO&I, the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft's cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help build the cloud datacenters that power the world's largest online services. We are seeking a Civil Structural Architectural (CSA) Superintendent who will be responsible for overseeing the complete delivery of projects at each site location, ensuring adherence to Data Center Development (DCD) Guidelines and standards. These guidelines are continually refined based on best practices, lessons learned, and evolving industry standards.This role involves managing site-specific challenges, resolving design conflicts, and addressing queries through RFIs in collaboration with the design team to maintain project schedules. By aligning team objectives, business processes, and vendor management strategies with the broader Data Center Development Project Strategy, the superintendent ensures seamless execution.The position also emphasizes effective cross-group collaboration, strong client relationship management, and cost-efficient project delivery, contributing to the overall success of data center development initiatives. This role is based in Charlotte, NC. Relocation support is available, and successful candidates are required to either reside within or relocate to within 50 miles of the designated hub office. This role is eligible for onsite only (100%) [within 50 miles from Charlotte, NC]. ResponsibilitiesLeadership and CoordinationLead all field-related Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) infrastructure activities for mission-critical projects.Coordinate with the DCD Construction Project Manager (CPM), consultants, OFCI vendors, general contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure proper execution of the CSA scope.Project Delivery and StandardsOversee the complete project delivery of the CSA scope, including commissioning, at each site location.Ensure compliance with Data Center Development (DCD) guidelines and standards, adapting to best practices, lessons learned, and evolving industry trends.Safety AdvocacyAct as a relentless advocate for workplace safety, aligning with CO+I's mission pillars: Safety, Quality, Schedule adherence, and Cost Management.Oversee and enforce safety protocols, conduct site audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses, and lead safety initiatives to maintain a safe worksite.Quality AssuranceEnsure CSA installations meet high-quality standards and project specifications.Provide technical guidance on design, fabrication, and installation while identifying and mitigating risks.Project Planning and ExecutionLead CSA project planning, scheduling, and coordination to ensure on-time and efficient completion.Facilitate communication across internal and external teams, manage progress, address issues to avoid delays, and report on scope, schedule, and compliance.Vendor and Cost ManagementManage vendor performance and oversee CSA-related costs to ensure resource allocation aligns with project needs.Monitor contract compliance, manage budgets, and collaborate on risk management strategies to drive cost efficiency and project success.Cross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate with Microsoft Security, IT (MSIT), Legal, Project Engineering, MS Business Risk Management, and other internal groups to uphold the corporate vision and project goals.OtherEmbody our Culture & Values
