Electrical Technician - Digital Range Training Systems
Orlando, FL Overview: Electrical Technician is responsible for installing and maintaining Force-on-Target training systems at various US Army CONUS sites, analysis of training range IT Networks, troubleshooting and solutions. The Electrical Technician reports to the Chief Engineer and works with the Engineering team for preparation of equipment to be fielded, installing the equipment and on-call support of the installed systems. Candidate should possess experience building, operating, testing, and training with systems involved in Digital Range Training Systems (DRTS). Additionally, candidate will provide Test and Verification of the DRTS refresh as well as equipment lifecycle management. Strong organizational skills, communication skills, and the ability to work independently are required. Job Duties:
- Conduct the DRTS Tier 1 Continuous Technology Refreshes (CTR) which include the Information Technology (IT) and AAR equipment replacement in the Control Tower (CT), Server Room, and AAR building, and the installation of all the latest DRTS systems software (SW) versions.
- Perform baseline testing to include Clear-Com testing, System Controller (SYSCON) functionality, Field Support Equipment (FSE) among others.
- Conduct Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) and System Verification Tests (SVT)
- Replace, integrate, and verify the aviation IT components to include all Evaluation Display Control (EDC) and Aviation Workstations (AWS) equipment.
- Manage equipment inventory and Item Unique Identifications (IUIDs) and perform Physical Configuration Audits (PDAs).
- Utilize the Configuration Audit Plan (CAP) while establishing and maintaining warranty information.
- Support the documentation and inventory of all legacy equipment being removed as part of the CTR and provide a list of all part numbers and needed information to catalog the legacy equipment to include turn-in and disposal function.
- Assist engineering staff with the analysis, evaluation and implementation of systems and other engineering tasks.
- Position contingent on Contract award.
Requirements:
- 2 year Associate Degree in electronics or related technical field (BS Degree desirable/Experience Equivalent to Degree) with 4 years of recent electrical/electronic industrial work experience; Minimum 6 years of experience with electrical systems and /or repair of electronic components.
- Relevant network certifications and training related to network establishment and virtualization (Cisco, VMware, etc.).
- Ability to obtain CompTIA Security Plus and Computing Environment Certifications for Windows
- Refresh of DRTS experience.
- Experience with Digital Multi-Purpose Range Complexes (DMPRC) and Digital Multi-Purpose Training Ranges (DMPTR)
- Highly proficient interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Secret Clearance
