Robotics Operator Technician - Finishing

Compensation: $25/hr.

Shift: Nights

The schedule is based on the department need. Days, nights, relief, and overtime will be required as necessary. Training may be required on other shifts. This role is a night shift role, but selected candidate may train on any shift.

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as a ROBOTICS OPERATOR TECHNICIAN, at our facility in CORRIGAN, TX. The Operator Technician will have responsibility for operating and maintaining the automated equipment in the Finishing and Shipping department at the site. There will be some traveling associated with this role during the onboarding and training period.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Two (2) or more years of maintenance technical support experience in a manufacturing or military environment.
* Perform basic mechanical and electrical repairs such as cutting, welding, construction, etc.
* Operate complex equipment with HMI interface, metering devices, encoders, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.

What Will Put You Ahead
* Technical or associate's degree in a technical field such as electrical, mechanical, or similar trades.
* Three (3) or more years working as an electrical/mechanical craft or plant technician.
* One (1) or more years working as a Team Lead with mechanical/electrical experience.
* Three (3) or more years of experience operating complex automated equipment, i.e., robots.

What You Will Do
* Operate and maintain automated/robotic equipment to include plywood panel repair and packaging equipment.
* Support the department as needed with technical support and perform operational duties as needed.
* Ensure equipment is clean (like new) and perform preventative maintenance on equipment to correct mechanical/electrical problems before machine fails.
* Utilize mechanical and basic electrical skills and knowledge to maximize machine performance, identify root cause failures, and apply long term solutions to achieve production and quality goals.
* Inspect equipment and communicate with operations to identify and prioritize maintenance needs.
* Support continuous process improvements through facility engagement, as well as systems optimization.
* Communicate to department manager and supervisors on any maintenance, quality, and or production issues as they arise.
* Actively participate in the safety program (adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures).
* Walk on elevated walkways.

Other Considerations
* Work a flexible work schedule (on-call/call-in hours, overtime, nights, and weekends) as needed for maintenance issues.
* Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, pushing and/or pulling for at least 12 hours a day, in a hot, cold, noisy, or humid industrial environment.

Wear the necessary Personal Protective equipment (PPE) i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, chemical suit, respirator, ear plugs, steel-toe boots and any other PPE required for specific jobs.
