THE OPPORTUNITY

This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at the rank of Assistant Professor is an exciting one. Columbia University Irving Medical Center, one of the nation's foremost academic health science center's working together with one of the nation's premier health systems, New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Division of Allergy and Immunology in the Department of Pediatrics is seeking an academic faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor in the lab of Dr. Jordan Orange with specific expertise in research projects focusing on Immunology. The research will primarily focus on the exploration of molecular mechanisms of cytotoxicity in natural killer cells and the investigation of the genetic and biological underpinnings of primary immunodeficiency.

Responsibilities for this role include designing, organizing, and conducting highly specialized and advanced experiments using established scientific protocols and procedures. The candidate will also be responsible for publishing results in research journals and applying for grants to obtain research funding. The candidate will also supervise and guide laboratory technicians, students, and other researchers, such as visiting student researchers and volunteers.

Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position will be a full-time Columbia University faculty position with full fringe benefits.

* Must have a PhD degree and a minimum of 5 years post-doctoral experience
