DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Nurse Aide, you will support the nursing staff at SCI Waymart in carrying out individualized care plans for inmates. By completing basic nursing tasks and procedures, you will help the staff maintain optimum inmate health and provide quality care. Your daily duties will include collecting specimens as directed by the Registered Nurse for urine, feces, and sputum. You can expect to assist inmates with daily living activities and hygiene to ensure basic physical care needs are met. In this position, you will follow a nursing care plan, provide care and interventions consistent with inmates' needs, and document assigned aspects of the nursing care plan. Additionally, you will need to participate in emergency situations and participate in emergency drills as assigned. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Work hours are to be determined from the following shifts:
- 1st shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- 2nd shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
- 3rd shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
- This position is eligible for full benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
- Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.

- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
