Program Support Associates are responsible for carefully wrapping and packaging outgoing products to prevent product damage during storage and transportation. These support associates are responsible for selecting appropriate packaging materials to protect the product integrity while optimizing the size and weight of the shipped item(s) in consideration of the transportation method, applicable export regulations, and customer and carrier requirements. Program Support Associates are also responsible for monitoring, reporting, and sustaining the production flow of specific customer product lines by providing support for procurement, inspection, and other functions as required.

- Assists with the creation and monitoring of purchase orders and receipts related to outside processing services; checks status on parts, updates tracking metrics and ERP system as appropriate. Expedites parts and outside services as required
- Prepares parts for customer source inspection and assists with source inspection as required
- Assists with part marking and prepares parts for final inspection
- Packages products to protect from damage during transportation and storage; examines shipments to ensure they meet customer requirements and comply with carrier requirements, export regulations, and customs documentation & compliance. Ensures shipping documents are accurate and complete, and that all packages are adequately labeled.
- Verifies accuracy of orders and maintains accurate records of shipments; compares identifying information and counts, weighs, and measures items to verify against bills of lading, customer orders, or other records
- May receive, unwrap, inspect, and store incoming materials; responsible for accurately recording counts, weights, condition, and storage locations for received items
- Utilizes forklift, pallet jacks, dolly, and other material handling equipment to transport materials; may operate overhead or jib crane; may use forklift to load and/or unload goods on trucks (Forklift certification upon employment is required)
- Completes appropriate paperwork in compliance with internal processes and quality procedures
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follows directions consistently and accepts responsibility for his/her actions and work product
- Complies with applicable manufacturing processes, work procedures, and supervisor instructions
- Adheres to safety guidelines and procedures; proactively identifies job hazards and collaborates with leadership to minimize hazards and ensure employee safety
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Regular attendance on-site at the work site is required
Required Education and Work Experience
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a warehouse role performing stocking, order picking, and/or packaging is required
- Forklift experience with a satisfactory record of safe operation is preferred
- Experience with export compliance/customs for shipping is preferred
Other Required Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- ERP experience is preferred
- Attention to detail and demonstration of accurate counting, measurement, and associated recordkeeping
- Self-management skills including efficiency, sense of urgency, ability to adapt and respond to unexpected circumstances, and ability to juggle multiple projects, competing priorities, and meet concurrent deadlines
- Professional written and verbal communication skills and consistently legible handwriting (English)
Physical Demands and Work Environment
To perform the essential functions of the role, employees must be able to perform the following activities with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, sit and/or stand for long periods to perform job duties
- Regularly lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 50 pounds
- Frequently bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel
- Accurately distinguish colors, letters, and numbers
- Use hands and fingers to manually inspect and assess, lift, rotate, and wrap or otherwise package parts
- Use hands and fingers to operate computer and peripheral equipment
- Visual ability to gauge distances, recognize and avoid obstacles to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a manufacturing warehouse environment where working conditions may vary significantly; the employee will be exposed to:
- Moderate Noise (frequently); Excessive noise, hearing protection required (occasionally)
- Dust, smoke, fumes/vapors (occasionally)
- Extreme temperatures (occasionally)
- Sharp instruments including box cutters, scissors, and other tools used in packaging/shipping
- Hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment
The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and the use of safety footwear may be required.
