$61,000.00 - $101,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

The Financial Reporting Controls Analyst provides support and builds subject matter expertise in administering the financial reporting control program for the enterprise to comply with the Model Audit Rule (MAR) with a basic understanding of core financial reporting processes. You will support annual risk assessment efforts across operating companies. You will also prepare control design and operational effectiveness testing. You will report to the Sr. Manager, Accounting.

In this flex office/home role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from one of the following office locations: Madison, WI 53783; Boston, MA 02110; Denver, CO 80112; Eden Prairie, MN 55343; Keene, NH 03431; St. Joseph, MO 64507; Phoenix, AZ 85034

Primary Accountabilities

  • You will assist in performing the enterprise-wide financial reporting risk assessment to support the enterprise Model Audit Rule program.
  • You will conduct financial reporting control design and implementation reviews to ensure controls are adequately designed to mitigate related risks.
  • You will perform financial reporting control effectiveness testing to ensure controls are operating effectively as designed.
  • You will develop working relationships with business partners and cultivate trust on financial reporting matters.
  • You will assist in classification of control deficiencies and support management with the development of remediation plans.
  • You will develop and maintain organizational awareness through monitoring of enterprise initiatives and potential impact to the financial reporting control environment.
  • You will assist the team with establishment and maintenance of the enterprise-wide financial reporting controls tool and reporting capabilities.
  • You will collaborate to complete team projects and process improvement strategies which support the enterprise-wide financial reporting controls program.
  • You will assist in monitoring team progress and overall status of annual plan and project initiatives.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
  • 1-2 years' experience, ideally in MAR, internal audit, SOX or public accounting.
  • Moderate knowledge and understanding of GAAP or Statutory accounting principles.
  • Moderate knowledge and understanding of MAR or SOX controls guidance.
  • Moderate knowledge and understanding of audit standards and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience using MS Office to create workflow or reporting systems.
  • Demonstrated delivery of process innovation and continuous improvement solutions.
