Parts Sales Specialist

Description

This individual will perform a variety of customer service, marketing, promoting, and advertising related to outside parts sales. This individual will be responsible for receiving and delivery of parts and accessories that contribute to the efficient, safe and profitable operation of the parts department. This individual will assist customers in the field by properly identifying needed items, using electronic parts catalogs and other available resources. They must have strong communication skills and are expected to meet the customer's needs and expectations while building long-term relationships within a territory to maximize company profitability and market share.

Specific Duties Include:



  • Travel to scheduled and non-scheduled customer calls Log all customer activities.
  • Maintain parts stock and rotate seasonal stock of all established Parts on Site inventories.
  • Promote and market Parts On Site to non-current customers.
  • Promote and market current initiatives to our traditional and non-traditional customers
  • Promote and market all current aftermarket sales and specials
  • Use Company provided systems/tools to fully document, track, record, follow-up and capture all related sales activity in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Take a proactive approach to any and all potential aftermarket sales leads.
  • Communicate all whole goods sales leads to the appropriate Sales Professional.
  • Proactively study and stay current on industry and product information.
  • Pick up and deliver parts for customers and vendors as needed.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
  • Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of RDO Truck Centers
  • Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set.
  • Participate in all company/location driven communication efforts, including open book meetings, huddles, department meetings and other related efforts.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner. Requirements
  • Formal parts training and or industry experience.
  • Understanding of mechanical and technical terms.
  • Knowledge of parts operating systems preferred.
  • Computer skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Customer service skills.
